Sample schedule

  • As we all know routine is important for the young child. Here is what that may look like.

8am:Wake up, breakfast and get dressed.

8:30: Morning Meeting Zoom Call with Ms. Schuler

9am: Play- research shows play is one of the most important ways young children learn. Make sure numbers and letters are included. (This may look like puzzles that have numbers, using tape and marker put letters onto their legos and see if they can build their name, I hide magnetic numbers and letters in our sand table etc.) With playdoh give them scissors to cut it with. This helps build up the muscles they'll use when it comes to writing. To keep them in the school mood, have them clean up one toy before they move on to the other.

Small group: 10-10:30 with Ms. Schuler. Then have them do zearn, abcmouse etc on the computer for about 10-15 minutes.

Small group 10:30-11 with Ms. Schuler. Have them do their computer time between 10 and 10:30.

11-12: If possible go outside. If not possible have them do a physical exercise inside. They love CosmicKids yoga.

    12-12:30: Lunch

12:30-1: Read aloud with Ms. Schuler

1-3: Naptime/rest time/quiet time: At school we would have the students lay on their mats for at least 20-30 minutes. If they were still awake after that we'd have quiet time. This included looking at books, play doh, coloring, puzzles and other quiet toys.

3pm: Closing time with Ms. Schuler

Please note this is just a suggestion/sample of what a day may look like. Come up with one that's best for you and your family.
